Membership Application

Membership Categories

Ordinary Member
Any registered medical practitioner or scientist who is interested in thoracic disease shall be eligible.

Associate Member
Any person duly proposed, seconded and passed in a Council meeting for his contribution to the Society or to thoracic diseases shall become an associate member. Such Members shall enjoy all the privileges of the Society except for the power of voting and holding office.

Life Member
Ordinary Members of at least 3 years duration immediately prior to application may apply in writing for life membership.

Student Member
Any medical student of the University of Hong Kong or the Chinese University of Hong Kong who is interested in thoracic diseases shall be eligible.

Honorary Member
This membership is conferred under exceptional circumstances by the Society as a sign of respect and appreciation on a leader in thoracic diseases, who has made significant contributions to the Society. This person shall be proposed and seconded by two Ordinary Members and the proposal shall be passed in a Council meeting and subsequently endorsed in the minutes of the Annual General Meeting. The membership shall be for life.
